Congratulations to Bailey lab’s Morgan Beckett on receiving the 2022 BMB Sharon Krag award!

Bailey lab PhD student Morgan Beckett received the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department’s 2022 Sharon Krag Award for outstanding and impactful leadership!

During an awards ceremony at the BMB Department annual retreat, Morgan presented about her work with the science outreach program JHMI Science in Action. Science in Action pairs Hopkins graduate students with Baltimore City elementary schools, where the volunteers lead the elementary students in hands-on, inquiry-based STEM activities. Morgan joined the program in 2021 as a volunteer and is now the president.

In addition to her work with SIA, Morgan is a mentor in the Hopkins PREP and  Schaufeld Scholars post-baccalaureate programs, and a member of the BMB Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
